Insulating New Construction in Great Barrington, MA
Challenge
This homeowner wanted us to come and insulate the addition on his home. There was no insulation at all which would be very inefficient to finish the construction in this space. This was a different project than we normally do, but any job is a job for us.
Solution
To insulate this home, we used our densepacking treatment. We put up our insulweb which makes as a thin layer to keep all of the insulation in. We hold it in place with strong staple guns to the walls. Next, we densepack our TruSoft Cellulose in through holes in the insulweb, and make sure to cover every inch of space available. We do this to every wall in the area to ensure air sealing and insulation. We also had to insulate the attic space that did not have a floor just yet, so we did the same thing with lining the area with insulweb. Instead of densepacking, this time we just open blew the insulation into the area. This makes this area ready for drywall to go up, and the addition to finish being built.
