Challenge
These homeowners contacted us to help them make their home more comfortable and energy efficient. They were experiencing cold, drafty rooms and inconsistent temperatures. Our Building Science Specialist performed a comprehensive home energy evaluation and discovered the attic was not air sealed or properly insulated which was allowing heated and cooled air from the home to escape into the attic.
Solution
Our Team went in and removed the old fiberglass insulation and vacuumed the attic. Then, using our 1-part expandable fire foam, we air sealed all penetrations from tops of walls, electrical, HVAC and plumbing. This prevents the conditioned air (heated and cooled air) from leaking into the attic. Our TruSoft Cellulose insulation was blown into the attic to an R-value of 60. These happy homeowners are much more comfortable in their home and are saving money on heating and cooling costs.
