Photo Album: Installing a Sump Pump in Enfield, CT
This customer in Enfield, CT had issues with a large amount of water in her basement. We noted that she had an inadequate sump pump.
We determined that the best course of action was to install a TripleSafe™ sump pump in the home. The TripleSafe™ sump pump system has 3 pumps to protect from flooding. The first pump is a 1/3 hp, cast iron Zoeller pump that can pump up to 2,200 gallons per hour, 8 feet high. Should the first pump fail or not be able to keep up with the temporary heavy flow of water, a 1/2 AC back up pump on a separate discharge line can pump 3,900 gallons of water per hour. If the power fails, then a third, battery operated "UltraSump" pump automatically pumps up to 12,000 gallons of water out of your basement! An airtight lid keeps moisture, odors, and radon gas out of your basement. Results - you have peace of mind knowing you have both AC and DC powered back up pumps to keep your basement dry!
To do this, we started by digging to remove the old sump pump. We prepared the space the sump pump would be lowered into and then installed it. Our team members on the inside of the home began to build the drainage lines out to the outside.
Outside, our other team members were digging trenches in the yard where the drainage pipes would go. We then laid the pipes down and connected them to the pipes inside, ensuring that everything was tightly connected. We then filled in the trenches and covered the end of the pipe with a grate so that it would freely flow away from the home.
