Photo Album: Insulating an Attic in North Adams, MA
This homeowner in North Adams, MA had mold issues in his attic. Our Home Comfort Specialist came to the home and noted that he had a poorly insulated attic. He had blown-in fiberglass insulation -- you can see fiberglass chunks in the insulation in the photos attached to this gallery. We were able to help this customer by re-insulating his attic. We started by vacuuming out, bagging up, and fully removing the blown-in fiberglass in the attic. Once all of the old insulation and debris was removed, we began sealing the attic with Zypfoam. This is a one-part spray foam that seals up spots where attic air can leak out into the home. We then replaced the insulation with our TruSoft™ blown in cellulose insulation. It is made of 85% recycled material -- making it an environmentally friendly option for homeowners. This home will now be temperature-controlled and more comfortable for years to come!
