Photo Album: Encapsulating a Crawl Space in North Adams, MA
This homeowner in North Adams, MA called us hoping to get his basement refinished. When we arrived in the home, we noticed that the crawlspace was not well insulated, which was causing issues the homeowner had been experiencing.
In order to encapsulate the crawlspace, we first had to remove the old insulation. Then, we insulated the walls with SilverGlo™ insulation, which has graphite infused into the foam, increasing the R-Value by 24% over standard foam. We then put dimpled drainage matting on the floor to create a thermal break. Then, TerraBlock™ floor insulation was installed over it. Finally, CleanSpace™ encapsulation liner was installed over that and permanently sealed and fastened into the crawlspace. We added additional closed cell spray foam to complete the encapsulation.
Now, this homeowner will have a more comfortable home!
