Problem:

This homeowner used to store items in their attic and wanted to continue, but they had a problem with the items getting wet and moldy. Moldy attics occur when a home is not properly insulated. The heat rises in the winter and hits the cold floor deck of the attic then turns into moisture. This is a constant cycle when an attic is well insulated. After that happens time and time again mold starts to grow on your items and the roof of your ceiling.

This homeowner gave us a call and we came down to do our FREE evaluation. We concluded that the attic needed to be fully insulated. Since the homeowner wanted to still store items in the attic the best solution would be to do a SuperPlatform attic deck. The homeowner agreed and we got to work. The SuperPlatform deck is made up of SilverGlo insulation boards. These boards have graphite infused into the foam which bumps up the insulation value by 24% over standard EPS foams. After the SilverGlo boards are installed thin wooden planks are put on top of it so it is easier for the homeowners to walk around. Now that the platform is made there is still open space in the attic so the team sprays TruSoft cellulose around the rest of the attic. This cellulose insulation has an R-value of (R60). The TruSoft will not burn, get moldy or attract pests. Once the job is complete we always make sure everything is cleaned up and just the way the homeowner wants it to be.
