Basement Finishing Photo Album: Adding an Egress Window in Otis, MA

This customer in Otis, MA was looking for an extra way of getting out of his basement in case of emergency. He also wanted to have extra natural light in his basement, since he did not have any. Unfortunately, his home was built into a ridge, which he viewed as a major challenge for someone looking to come out and install a window. Luckily, Fogarty's Home Services had the perfect solution for him, and was able to meet his needs.    To install the window, we first had to determine where we wanted it to be. After we determined this, we dug out the specific spot that we needed. We then had to cut the foundation and break through the drywall in the same spot on the other side. Once the piece of foundation was removed, we installed the egress window that he was looking for, as well as a Rockwell window well.    After installing the window well, we filled in the dirt around it, ensuring that it was fit tightly into the lawn.   Now, this homeowner is able to utilize his basement space without worry!
