Basement Insulation Photo Album: Cold Basement in Storrs Mansfield, CT
These homeowners in Mansfield Storrs, CT were having issues keeping their basement and home warm in the winter. There were ineffective fiberglass batts in the ceiling of the basement which were not stopping cold air flow and were starting to fall apart.
We took out the old insulation first, then we insulated the rim joist to keep out air leaks. We then installed our Foamax polyisocyanurate foam insulation board onto the basement walls to keep heat from escaping through the concrete walls. Foamax has flame retardant properties and a foil face to reflect heat.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, the basement in this home is now comfortable and heat will no longer creep up into the home.
Before
The fiberglass did not have very good coverage. Look at all the space for cold air to get through!
