Basement Insulation Photo Album: Insulating a Basement in Gales Ferry, CT

This homeowner in Gales Ferry, CT called us hoping that we would be able to seal and insulate his rim joist. We were able to do exactly that!   We started by preparing the home for the insulation by putting up large sheets of plastic to protect the walls and the items the homeowner had in the basement.   To prepare, we moved the existing fiberglass batts. Then, we applied an even coat of two-part expanding spray foam in the rim joist. The spray foam expands to fill all cracks and gaps in the rim joist. This air seals the rim joist and insulates the basement.    Now, this homeowner has a much more comfortable home!
