Crawl Space Insulation Photo Album: Making a Home in Woodstock, CT More Comfortable
These homeowners in Woodstock, CT had complaints of their home being cold, especially near an addition in the home. The crawlspace in their home is open to outside air, and without properly sealing the inside of the home from space, cold air can sneak in and the heat can be lost through the the floor through conduction.
We started by removing the insulation. We then insulated the rim joist with our SilverGlo insulation board and expanding foam. Lastly, we installed SilverGlo in the bottom of the floor joists and sealed that with expanding foam as well.
This home will now be far more comfortable thanks to our team at Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions!
Before
The old insulation was beginning to fall apart, given enough time, fiberglass batts will sag away from the floor joist even fall down completely.
Removal
We removed the old insulation. This is also a great shot of the access hole we had to work with. Props to our installers, Tyrek and Paul, for getting so much done in such a tight spot!
Rim Joist
We made sure to insulate and air seal the rim joist before any other insulation.
Insulated Floor Joist
Our SilverGlo foam is in place and won't sag or fall away. We make sure to seal between the boards and any remaining leaks.
