Crawl Space Insulation Photo Album: Installing a Turtl™ in Windsor, CT
This customer in Windsor, CT needed access to his crawlspace from the outside so that he would have access to his pipes. The crawlspace was very hard to enter through the hole made in the basement, and the homeowner was experiencing leaking pipes he needed access to. When our Home Comfort Specialist arrived in the home, he noted that the crawlspace was uninsulated and not encapsulated -- two things the homeowner was also hoping he could have done -- and very hard to access from the main basement.
So the homeowner would have access, we installed a Turtl™ crawl space access system in the home. The Turtl™ is an airtight door and sealed access well. You simply open the lid and crawl in in order to enter the crawl space.
In order to install it, we first had to dig out the spot that it would be in. We dug under the foundation of the home. We then installed a wooden frame in the opening. We then placed the Turtl™ in the ground. We out some of the foundation to add the airtight lid. Finally, we filled in the dirt around it to ensure a tight fit. Now, this homeowner will be able to access his crawlspace in the spots he needs, as comfortably as he can.
