Improving Energy Efficiency in Enfield, CT

This homeowner called us baffled. She couldn't figure out why despite having newer windows and doors  and a new(ish) roof, she could not keep the temperature comfortable in her home.

Upon evaluation, our Building Science Specialist was able to immediately determine that the home was not properly insulated or air sealed. This home's attic and basement were in need of treatments to make this home comfortable and energy efficient.

We removed and disposed of all existing, old batt insulation and prepped for new insulation in roof and knee walls, including air sealing. We installed a Super KneeWall™ System with SilverGlo™ and dense packed with TruSoft™ Cellulose. We then treated the basement by air sealing the Rim Joists with Closed Cell Spray Foam and Installing a new, Custom Exterior Door at the bottom of the hatch stairs.
