Making a Home More Comfortable in Enfield, CT
Challenge
This homeowner in Enfield, CT was looking on Facebook for a good insulation company, They were referred to us, and called us for an appointment for a quote on how much it would be to replace their existing insulation in the attic. We got to the home and saw that they had all old, nasty fiberglass insulation in their attic. We also noticed some mold in their attic, which can be very harmful. This is also problem because fiberglass insulation does not quite do the job, especially without any air sealing.
Solution
We sent our Production team out to the home to remove, and replace the old insulation. We first remove all of the fiberglass insulation, bag it up and properly dispose of it. Next, we vacuum up any remaining particles of insulation. Now we can spray our Mold-X mold killer on all of the effected areas. Once this had dried, we can continue with our insulation installation. Since these homeowners wanted to have some attic storage space, we made a catwalk in the attic for them. We first lay down our SilverGlo foam insulation board to air seal, and then we can lay our panels of wood down to complete the storage area! Now we can install the SiverGlo foam board and foam to air seal any penetrations where air is able to leak up into the attic, or out of the attic. Finally, we can install our Cellulose insulation. We blow the cellulose insulation into the attic covering up all areas other than the catwalk we built for storage. Now this attic is mold free, air sealed, and insulated! Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver these homeowners are now more comfortable, happy, and healthy in their home!
