Updating Insulation for Comfort in Worcester, MA
Challenge
These homeowners in Stockbridge, MA called us out to their home because they believed they needed more insulation. We went to their home and performed our Free Home Energy Evaluation to see that they had very old, nasty, inefficient fiberglass insulation in their attic. This inefficiency was effecting their home negatively. It was allowing air to escape out of the home and harsh outdoor air to enter the home where they were paying to heat the space! This was increasing the cost of energy bills, and making these homeowners uncomfortable in their home.
Solution
To resolve this, we know that we need to first remove all of the old, nasty fiberglass insulation. Next, we need to make sure that we air seal all spaces where air can travel through. Something that not everyone knows: Insulation does not stop air leaks! That's why we carefully air seal the many various points where air from your home leaks up into your attic and is lost. Now, its insulation time. We blow our TruSoft Cellulose Insulation into the attic to the optimum insulation level. This material will not burn, grow mold, or attract pests! The blown-in insulation fills any odd-shaped cracks or voids. Thanks to this treatment, these homeowners not only have efficient updated insulation, but their home is more comfortable, energy efficient, and less expensive to heat/cool!
