The old attic insulation had to be stripped and disposed of in this homeowner's attic. MoldX2 cleaner and MoldX2 botanical were sprayed on the affected areas in the attic in accordance with repair instructions to get rid of the mold. In addition, we needed to seal the chimney chase with metal flashing, and fire caulk, and wrap it with rock wool boards. An air leak in a house is typically caused by a chimney that isn't properly ventilated. Before installing our TruSoft Cellulose insulation, we had to seal all accessible penetrations and top plates with our expanding foam.
