Mold Removal Photo Album: Rescuing a Flooded Basement in Enfield, CT
This customer in Enfield, CT called us when his basement flooded. He wanted to know the solutions that we would be able to put in place to help prevent future floods.
The solution that was the best fit for an immediate result was putting in a sump pump. We chose to use the TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe™ sump pump system has 3 pumps to protect from flooding. The first pump is a 1/3 hp, cast iron Zoeller pump that can pump up to 2,200 gallons per hour, 8 feet high. Should the first pump fail or not be able to keep up with the temporary heavy flow of water, a 1/2 AC back up pump on a separate discharge line can pump 3,900 gallons of water per hour. If the power fails, then a third, battery operated "UltraSump" pump automatically pumps up to 12,000 gallons of water out of your basement! An airtight lid keeps moisture, odors, and radon gas out of your basement. Results - you have peace of mind knowing you have both AC and DC powered back up pumps to keep your basement dry!
We jackhammered into the concrete basement floor in order to create a space for the sump pump. We then dug into the dirt below and prepared the space. Other team members were beginning to figure out where the pipes would go on the inside and outside of the house. On the outside of the home, we dug trenches into the yard to make sure that the drainage pipes would lead away from the house. We laid and tightly connected the pipes, covered them back over with dirt, and made sure it was connected to the drainage on the inside.
The home was then ready for other solutions to ensure that this problem was fully remedied and would not happen again!

Prior to the work being done, the basement was filled with water and had no way of draining it.
