Mold Removal Photo Album: Preventing Water Damage in Lee, MA

This homeowner in Lee, MA had a lot of issue with water coming into his home. He had a small, inadequate sump pump that was failing and not doing its job. His basement's floor, walls, and ceiling were all covered in mold and moisture. When we arrived, we set a list of things that he wanted to get accomplished: reduce humidity, reduce mold, and eliminate water in the basement.    We began by removing several wooden pieces, boulders, fiberglass insulation, and water-logged items from the basement.   We sprayed Mold-X2 Cleaner and Mold-X2 Botanical on all of the moldy surfaces. Mold-X2 cleaner eliminates mold, and Botanical keeps it from growing back. We then installed a TripleSafe™ sump pump to replace his inadequate one, and connected it to a basement drainage system in the home. We also hooked up a SaniDry™ Sedona, our highly efficient dehumidifier. For insulation, we used two-part expanding spray foam in the rim joist (the perimeter of the floor around the exterior of the house). Finally, after confirming that the sump pump was in good working order, we let the basement dry out. We then returned to put on finishing touches such as a CleanSpace vapor barrier around the concrete walls -- this prevents moisture that may be wicking through the concrete to get into the basement.   This homeowner was extremely excited for his new, dry basement!
