Windows & Doors Photo Album: Eliminating Water in a Basement in Colebrook, CT
This home owner in Colebrook, CT called Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions out to his home because he had water coming into his basement from his windows! To fix this we did two things, one was replace the old basement windows with new slider basement windows. The other treatment we did was install new Sunhouse window wells.
To do this, first, we have to remove the old metal window well. This was just one piece of metal going around the perimeter of the hole and not protecting the window at all. Then we dig the well deeper than it already was. Once we do that, we add some stone aggregate to the bottom of the hole. Then we install the window well with the cover to let in some nice natural light into the basement. To finish it off we back fill into the open ground with dirt and replace the mulch that was there.
Now that Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions came and took care of this problem, this homeowner will not have to worry about leaky basement windows ever again!

Another before photo of this crawlspace area. As you can see it is very dusty- would not be ideal for storage.
During the Process
Here you can see the crawlspace with SilverGlo foam board panels along the walls. This SilverGlo has a foil face side that acts as a reflective radiant barrier. Now we are ready for a cleanup of the ground area, and dimple matting.
More SilverGlo!
