This homeowner in South Hadley, MA contacted us about having old insulation in the attic which needed to be replaced. As you can see, the previous insulation only barely made it up as high as the joist, which on average is 8 to 10 inches, only half of what is required for a home!
We removed this insulation and sealed any air leaks that were present to ensure that none of the air this homeowner pays to heat will escape through the top of the house. We the installed 20 full inches of our TruSoft cellulose insulation. We also created a catwalk to make it safe and easy to reach heating and cooling equipment that resides in the attic.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver this homeowner can live more comfortably and enjoy having lower energy costs!
This home owner in East Longmeadow, MA called us to see if we could make his home warmer in the winter. When we got into his attic we noticed that not only was there little to no insulation, but there was also can lights. Can light can let up to 10 CFM's of air that you paid to heat your home escape into your attic. When you have multiple can light like this home does, it could be effecting the temperature in the house and your wallet! To fix this issue, we use our Tite-Shell can light covers. Because can lights get so hot you can use traditional insulation or it could burn. Instead our can light covers are made with rock wool. This is a material that is a by-product of the molten steel industry. IT has been burned up tp 2000+ degrees to make it practically fire proof. Once we get the shell to fix right we air seal around it. after doing all the can lights, this house is just one step closer to becoming more comfortable and energy efficient!
Team dense packed roof with TrueSoft Cellulose
This homeowner in South Deerfield, MA called us out to their home for a Home Energy Evaluation. This home had some old, inefficient fiberglass without air any sealing in their attic. This allows conditioned or heated air that is paid for to escape the home.
We first removed all of the old, fiberglass insulation and properly disposed of the materials. We air seal all top plates, end plated, and any areas where air can escape from the home into the attic and be lost with foam. This homeowner wanted to be able to still have a storage area so we built them an insulated catwalk space for them. Now, blow our TruSoft Cellulose insulation into the attic. Cellulose will fill in any odd-shaped voids and gaps. Now, thanks to Fogarty's Home Services, this home will have more even temperatures, and is more energy efficient!
This homeowner in Deerfield, MA had been living with ineffective insulation and finally reached us when she realized it was not doing as good of a job insulating the home as it could have been.
We removed the old, soiled insulation and now with a fresh clean slate, we can go in and seal any air leaks that were previously buried under the batts of insulation, which did nothing to stop the the convective loop of heated air from inside the home. We then blew in 20 inches of our TruSoft cellulose, which over the following days settles down to 17 inches, or R70.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home will be far easier to heat and keep comfortable this winter.
