This home owner in Suffield, CT called us at Dr Energy Saver because she could not keep her home at a consistent and comfortable temperature. There where a couple of things going on in this home but one of the has to do with a vertical wall upstairs. The wall has a conditioned space on one side and an un-conditioned space one the other. This is a problem that we can easily fix. What we have to do is separate the conditioned from the unconditioned so we start by blocking the floor with our SilverGlo foam insulation. This stop the air from under the attic floor from seeping into the wall. Then we have to insulate that wall. To do that we take our 4 " SilverGlo and start to cover the wall with it. In between every piece we have to remember to air seal so no air can get through. Now that the blocking is in, the SilverGlo is up, and it is air sealed, this home owner can live more comfortable in her home!
This customer in Suffield, CT called us out to help them with a problem they were having in their home. The problem was that they were having trouble keeping the room above their garage warm in the winter. Old fiberglass insulation leaves too much space for air to circulate around them, eliminating the R-value and making the room above cold and drafty in the winter.
To fix this we have to add more insulation into the garage ceiling. First we must drill holes in the garage ceiling. We need to do this in order to have somewhere to insert and dense pack our TruSoft cellulose insulation. That brings us to our next step. We take a flexible long dense pack hose and insert it all the way into the ceiling and across the top to fill in any space. Then we start dense packing with out TruSoft cellulose insulation. This will crush and condense the insulation previously in the ceilings and increases the insulation value. This density also stops airflow through the floor from air leaks. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions this customer is now comfortable in their room above the garage all year long!

This homeowner called us out to their home in South Windsor, CT to help them with their freezing cold basement. When we conducted our full home Energy Evaluation we noticed that their basement walls were insulated with fiberglass insulation. Fiberglass insulation will not work efficiently on its own, we know that if there isn't something covering the open side of the fiberglass insulated walls air is easily able to travel in and out of the home. In the winter this can create freezing cold basements, and cold floors above. We knew what we needed to do to help this homeowner.
We install our Fomax foam boards on the basement walls covering the fiberglass. We make sure to fasten the foam boards with Dr. Energy Saver's Foam-Tite Fasteners to keep the board in place. Now that the board is up, the fiberglass isn't left to try and do all the work on its own. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this is now a comfortable, warmer basement for this homeowner!
