This customer called us out to check out a problem they were having in their home. Originally they called us out to install a new beautiful sliding glass door as well as a basement window. These homeowners had a lot of dust and allergens in their home, especially in the basement. We sat down and went over out Energy Evaluation results with them and recommended they have their rim joist insulated. We explained that this would make their home healthier and warmer. They agreed, to increase energy efficiency in the home and keep out dust and allergens by taking this measure.
To start off, we have to use our two-part expanding spray foam. We spray this on the rim joist as well as over the sill plate. This seals all air leaks from the outside and all of the important areas of the home. Our spray foam has a very high insulation value if R7 per inch. Since this foam expands, it seals all of the cracks and gaps where air from the outside can enter their home. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, these homeowners can live dust free, allergen free, and live more energy efficiently!
This homeowner called us out to their home in Egremont, MA to access a problem that have been experiencing in their homes. They originally called us to do a Home Energy Evaluation in regards to adding some new insulation in their homes. When we got to the home and spoke with the homeowner during our inspection they voiced to us that they have very cold floors on the first floor during colder seasons. They also had trouble keeping the first floor cool in the summer and hot seasons. While evaluating their basement we saw that they did not have a sealed rim joist. The joints and gaps between the framing all of the framing members allow for a lot of air leakage into the home. This also was a reason for the first floor not staying as cool as it should be in hotter seasons. Air was able to leak through the rim joists and gaps, resulting in uncomfortable temperatures in their home no matter the season.
To fix this issue, we need to spray foam this homeowners rim joist and insulate. This process is done by spraying out two-part expanding spray foam on the rim joist and over the sill plate to seal all air leaks from the outside. This finally creates some well needed insulation in the home. Dr. Energy Savers spray foam has a high insulation value of R7. Since this is expanding foam, it seals all of the cracks, gaps, and joints where air from the outside enters the home. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, these homeowners can now live comfortable, and more energy efficient in their homes all rear round!
This homeowner from Fitchburg, MA, called because they had temperature fluxuations in several rooms in their home. We provided a free evaluation and discovered that they had no insulation in their basement. In order to fix the problem, we recommended adding insulation and sealing areas where air could come in.
We installed our Fomax insulation board along the walls and insulated around the rim joist. We sprayed additional foam insulation around the rim joist to complete the air tight seal. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home is more energy efficient, the basement is more comfortable and now the homeowners have extra space for storage.
This homeowner in Marlborough, MA called us out to their home to update their insulation and increase their energy efficiency. We noticed they had very small amount of insulation in the rim joists, and it was old, inefficient fiberglass. Along the rim joists around the perimeter of the home in the basement, a lot of air is able to escape out of and enter the home. Since the cold, concrete walls of the basement are buried in the ground they tend to be about 17° cooler than than your home should be. In the summer this allows warm, humid air into your basement, hitting the cold concrete walls. This will cause condensation, supporting mold. Since they only had a small amount of old insulation, there was barley anything stopping these concerns.
We got right to the home, prepped and protected the customers belongings and got to work. First,we install our Foamax insulation boards along the concrete walls. Now, we install our spray foam insulation around the perimeter of the home on the rim joist. Since it expands, it fills in all gaps, cracks and joints air was able to leak into the home before.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver, these homeowners are more comfortable, happy, and more energy efficient in their homes!
