This Springfield, MA homeowner reached out to Fogarty's Home Services to insulate his uninsulated floors that were open to the outside underneath the home. He had cold, drafty floors because there wasn't any insulation to protect the floors from the outside air. We were able to install Expanding Spray Foam Insulation under these cold floors at the rim joists to resolve air leakage and conductive heat loss through the floor. Now our happy homeowner will feel results including much warmer floors, less drafts, more comfortable rooms, a quieter home, and lower energy bills.
This homeowner in Colchester, CT was having trouble keeping their home comfortable. They had their HVAC system running through their attic. Given the extreme temperatures in attics, the system has to work double time to keep the air running through the ducts cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
To help keep the ducts safe from those extremes, we used our Tight N' True duct encapsulation system. The spray foam air seals as it insulates to make sure no energy is lost. Once done and cured, we are able to blow our TruSoft cellulose into the attic, right up against those ducts.

This Homeowner in Coventry, CT called us out to their home for an estimate to update their attic insulation. When we arrived, we saw that they had old inefficient insulation.
Over many years insulation collects dirt, dust, pollen, bugs, and all kinds of undesirable things. We began by removing the old inefficient dirty old insulation. We bagged it all up and disposed of it properly off site. We then vacuumed the attic with a giant vacuum located outside with giant filter bags, and a very long, fat hose.
Now that the attic is clean, its ready for proper air sealing and installation of clean, new, fresh trusoft insulation or one of our other Dr. Energy Saver strategies to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient.
This homeowner in Salem, CT called us out to their home to insulate their basement due to having cold floors. This homeowner had no insulation in their basement at all. Poured concrete basement walls are a risk for potential mold in the summer when the hot humid air meets the cold concrete! This was negatively affecting their home creating cold floors, hard to heat, and higher heating and cooling bills to name a few.
We addressed this concern by insulating and air sealing the basement rim joist and walls. We first install our Foamax foam insulation boards along all the walls in the basement. They are secured with long fasteners. It has flame retardant properties. This results in warmer more comfortable, and helps with cold floors. Next, we spray our Spray Foam Insulation along the perimeter of the house covering the rim joist cavities and the sill plate. This stops all air leaks from outside entering the home through all cracks and gaps.
