Our team insulated a skylight in a home so the homeowners can have a cooler and more comfortable home in the summer and warmer rooms in the winter.

This homeowner in Woodstock, CT called us for an estimate on replacing the insulation in their home. They were especially concerned with the very cold finished room over the garage. They had fiberglass insulation in the garage "ceiling", which leaves lots of air space for cold air to enter the home and escape. This decreases efficiency, making it cold in the winter! Since this garage did not have a ceiling, we had to customize a solution for them! 

We sent out our production team to get to work. First, we remove all of the old, nasty fiberglass insulation and the boards holding it up. Then we we staple Insulweb as shown to the floor joists to create a subspace. Now, through small holes we stick our dense pack hose into the open spaced and dense pack with our TruSoft cellulose insulation. We patch up the holes used, and we are done! This will drastically decrease the uneven temperature of the room over the garage. Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home is now more comfortable, and energy efficient!

Our Woodstock, CT customer reached out to Fogarty's Home Services because his home was cold and his pipes kept freezing. One issue we found during our customer's free Home Energy Evaluation, was that the exterior walls weren't insulated properly. Nearly all walls leak air, causing drafts. The cold wall surface cools interior air which then sinks and travels across the floor and up the warmer interior wall, and across the ceiling back to the exterior wall. This is called a "convective loop" and makes rooms feel even draftier. To remedy this issue, Fogarty's Home Services dense-packed TruSoft™ cellulose into the exterior walls to stop air flow through the wall and insulate them. TruSoft™ Cellulose is treated to be highly fire, most and pest resistant. When finished, we plugged the insulation holes and put the siding back. These Homeowners in North Stonington, CT Called us out to their home for insulation and air sealing of the attic. When we arrived, we noticed there was old inefficient fiberglass insulation in the attic.  We removed all the fiberglass insulation and vacuumed up all the debris. Next, we started air sealing the attic. We sealed up all the gaps and odd shaped voids where air was able to leak and is lost. We then insulated the attic with trusoft cellulose insulation. The access point to their attic was through the attic stairs hatch. This hatchway is a main point of where air can leak from. We installed a David Lewis Hatch Cover. What that cover does, is it rests right over the pull-down stair hatch. The cover is made of lightweight silver Glo foam insulation, it can be easily lifted aside to go up into your attic and set it back in place when you leave. It is installed over an insulated platform. It stops air from leaking down into the home and from the home up into the attic. We also insulated their ducts with Silver Glo and spray foam insulation.

This homeowner in Thompson, CT called us to their home to help with cold floors and humidity. This home had a nasty, dirt crawlspace that was impacting those concerns!

First, we remove all of the old, nasty insulation any debris in the crawlspace. Next, we install our dimpled plastic drainage matting across the floor to create an airspace and thermal break. TerraBlock™ floor insulation is installed over the dimpled drainage mat. Now, our heavy-duty, 20 mil thick CleanSpace™ crawl space encapsulation liner is installed permanently across the dirt floor. It is sealed with mechanical fasteners to the walls and spiked to the floor. This will drastically reduce the cold floors and keep water and moisture out of the crawlspace, and make this home more comfortable and energy efficient!
