This home owner in Feeding Hills, MA called us to his home to see if we could help reduce the amount of water that was coming into his basement. When our building science specialist was on his inspection of the basement, he noticed that all the water was coming in from the bilco door to the outside. To make things worse, he did not have a steel insulated door to protect his home!

So, to fix this issue we first caulked the bilco door so no water could get in from that way, Then we installed our steel insulated basement door. Once we complete this door project the water will not be able to come into the basement and effect the home.

Now that Dr Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions has came and completed this project, this home owner will not have to worry about water in his basement any more!

This homeowner in Suffield, CT called us hoping that we would be able to help her with her insulation in her basement. Our Home Comfort Specialist evaluated the home and found many issues that the homeowners had just accepted dealing with. One of these issues was the fact that the home had no door at the bottom of the hatch steps. Since bulkhead doors are not insulated, they leak a lot of cold (or warm!) air into the basement, and it can float up into the rest of the living areas. This can cause cold floors in the winter or condensation, high humidity, and even mold in the summer. This is what the homeowner was experiencing.

Luckily for this customer, we were able to help her with this issue! We installed a insulated exterior door at the bottom of the steps. We first installed the framing that it needed. Then, we installed the door, complete with weather stripping and a locking knob. The fact that the door is insulated means that they will not be affected by the bulkhead door leaking air - the outside air stays outside. 

This homeowner in West Springfield, MA called us hoping that we would be able to help him. He had rain coming into his basement through his window wells. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that the window wells had ill-fitting covers and, additionally, did not let light into the basement. 

We had the perfect solution for this customer. We were able to help him by installing a SunHouse™ basement window enclosure with a drainage system (not pictured) to prevent flooding. SunHouses™ are sturdy and keep rain and leaves out due to their clear cover, and the bottom reflects natural light into the basement due to its light color. 

Now, this homeowner is much happier with their window wells! 

This homeowner had old wooden door in the basement that let air in. So we replaced it with a new thick steal so no air would get through.
