To help reduce the dryness, one of the things we did was install a basement door. First thing we do is rip out the old door and framing. Then we put in pressure treated wood for a frame and install the door. We air seal the gaps and finish it off with some nice trim. This door will now help remedy the dryness problem in this home!

Since it leaked, it had to be covered in a tarp, meaning it was not used. However, the homeowner still wanted to keep a bulkhead due to the extra means of egress it provided.

We caulked around the edges and installed flashing behind the door to ensure a tight fit.  Combining this with our other solutions ensures that this homeowner and his wife will be able to use their bulkhead door as a means of egress without the hassle!
